"Daffodils from Susan's Garden"
These daffodils from Susan's garden look perfect in a beautiful oriental vase. Roses and little blue flowers tucked amongst the foliage add charm to the arrangement, while a fanciful butterfly joins the scene. Using the prepared edge method of applique, precision is easily achieved to make an alluring bouquet.
Embellishments include seed beads, embroidered stems and stamens, and gold metallic threads. The daffodil centers are fashioned using French wired ribbons. Most elements are fussy cut from cotton batiks, some are cut from silks. The vase was fussy cut from an old Japanese kimono, but other fabrics are equally elegant. Many petals are stuffed before stitching to add dimension.
The design covers an area of approximately 15" x 15".
If you prefer to use only cottons, the results will still be spectacular. The choice is yours!
